Are you a veteran or a public service officer dealing with challenges unique to your service and experiences? Do you struggle with the aftereffects of your duty, such as stress, trauma, or readjusting to civilian life? Have your previous efforts to seek help not fully addressed the complexities of your experiences?
Restorative Psychological Services offers specialized therapy for veterans and public service officers, recognizing the distinct challenges faced by those who have served in these roles. Our practice provides a supportive and understanding environment to address the mental and emotional needs specific to your service experiences.
Veterans and public service officers often encounter experiences that can have profound impacts on mental health and well-being.
Common issues addressed in therapy include:
- Coping with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and other trauma-related symptoms
- Transitioning from service to civilian life and the challenges it brings
- Dealing with anxiety, depression, or mood disorders
- Managing feelings of isolation or difficulty relating to others who haven’t shared similar experiences
- Addressing relationship or family difficulties that arise from service-related stress
- Struggling with a sense of purpose or identity post-service
- Navigating grief and loss related to experiences in the line of duty
- Overcoming substance use or addictive behaviors often used as coping mechanisms
- Coping with physical injuries and their psychological impacts
- Dealing with guilt, shame, or moral injury from experiences during service
In therapy, we focus on providing a safe and confidential space for you to explore and process your experiences. Using a combination of therapeutic techniques tailored to your individual needs, we work on strategies to help you manage symptoms, develop resilience, and find new meaning and direction in your post-service life.

We truly appreciate your service.
Our founder, Dr. Justin Garber, has a deep appreciation for those in public service. Dr. Garber’s grandfather enlisted in the Marines at the age of 17 to defend freedom in World War II. Dr. Garber saw the impacts these experiences had on his grandfather despite how his grandfather never spoke much about his service. It wasn’t until after his grandfather passed away and old letters were read did he truly understand what his grandfather experienced emotionally about his service.
Dr. Garber sought to help other Veterans with their life experiences through his work as a psychologist for the Department of Veterans Affairs. Dr. Garber remains committed to helping all of those who contributed to our country.
