I had the great opportunity to earn my doctorate in clinical psychology (PsyD) at Roosevelt University; a program accredited by the American Psychological Association that thoroughly holds training psychologists to the highest professional, academic, and humanistic standards in the field.

As a clinical psychologist, I am able to perform in-depth psychological assessments using a variety of measures, and I have spent over 10 years practicing psychotherapy. I have worked in a variety of settings ranging from outpatient private practice to inpatient psychiatry units at the Department of Veterans Affairs. For years, I specialized in helping people struggling with the effects of trauma.

My graduate research and dissertation focused on the relationship between psychological stress and its impact on the body’s stress response system; specifically, the hypothalamic pituitary axis and cortisol secretion. My dissertation was award nominated and presented at multiple events, including the American Psychosomatic Society.

I have also presented at the Midwestern Psychological Society and the Bergen County Chapter of the Association of Student Assistance Professionals of New Jersey. I am a member of the American Psychological Association, the New Jersey Psychological Association, and the International OCD Foundation.

Beyond formal training, I am continually inspired and in awe of the power of good psychotherapy. Good psychotherapy helps people understand why they keep having the same problems regardless of the name of the therapy.
